Remaster Notes:
Many thanks to Alan for sharing this with us, much appreciated.
This has been pitch & speed corrected.
It was a little off on both.
The source tape and/or tape decks used are not the best.
This is a shame as the actual recording is good.
Needed lots of restoration & some gentle mastering touches.
It is mildly distorted overall, not bad, not good, mild brickwalling, sounds "muffled".
Did a partial re-track for this.
Talkers are present during the songs mostly in the left channel.
Not to bad, heard many worse.
There is so little around by the prims that this is well worth getting.
Enjoy...

Great stuff. Definitely Legends, as I think a friend from school went. I had this on tape and shared it on Dime several years ago. I'm sure this is probably a better quality rip, but let me know if you are interested in the tape.
ReplyDeleteHi, thanks for leaving a comment (nice one!) & glad you are enjoying the music.
ReplyDeleteIf you think your tape could be potentially better quality then i would love a rip of it to work with & share.
Colin
Will try to dig out the original to compare and will let you know.
ReplyDeletemany thanks for doing that.
ReplyDeleteCheers for sending the rip.
ReplyDeleteProbably won't need the actual tape so don't go looking unnecessarily!
Will let you know how it compares soon as I get a chance.
Many thanks.
Have compared the 2 versions.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it is better than what we have here.
But THANKS a lot for taking the time to send it in, much appreciated.
C.
No problem. Thanks for all you do on this page. Going to rip another Primitives show from tape this week - Boston Arms 22 August 1988. I aim to share it on Dime at some point.
ReplyDeleteThat is great, the more music we share the more interesting the (musical) world becomes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. I have just discovered your web and it's great...thanks you
ReplyDeleteGlad you are enjoying it Javier, more posts lined up as time allows.
ReplyDeleteHi. Happy New Year. Finally getting round to listen to this properly and I've realised it's a different gig from my recording. The setlist is different and the banter between songs is different. The setlist is similar with the same cover versions as encores, so it's probably from the same tour. Sounds like a bigger crowd at the venue from my recording, but not sure that helps locate either show.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information.
ReplyDeleteBe great to know dates location for your recording & this one.
May be someone out there knows for sure?
